3D TRANSFORMATION OF CADASTRE: FROM DATA MODELING TO KNOWLEDGE MODELING

This presentation starts with a quick demonstration of the presenter’s 3D cadastre-related projects and the challenges encountered. Then, these challenges are cross-validated with other 3D cadastre research, highlighting an important yet missing piece: knowledge modeling. The presentation then outlines the roadmap of 3D cadastre knowledge modeling research by using the latest deep AI and big data technology. The proposed roadmap includes a proof-of-concept step, where the knowledge base will only be built for 3D cadastre mapping, and an application step, where the workflow will be tested for a full-fledged 3D cadastre knowledge base. The presenter then demonstrates how his expertise and current cooperation with MILA lab can guarantee an optimized outcome from this project. Finally, the proposed research is placed in a broader view of how the cadastre knowledge modeling could support the development of the next generation cadastre, which should be 3D, automatic, and intelligent.
